Becoming Chocolatiers!

Tuesday, May 21, 2019
If you know me in real life, you know I have ALWAYS said being a chocolatier would be my dream job. Well, turns out there is a place in Lehi where you can live these dreams!

It's called Just Add Chocolate and for 1 1/2 hours you can go and learn how to make chocolates! They do a 10 minute instruction at the beginning to go over simple guidelines and then you are set loose to make your own chocolates! They also have these cute hats and aprons that you get to wear!

They had a date night special when we went that was $35 for two people, a 1/2 pound of chocolate each (which is about what is pictured below), two drinks, a caramel apple, and unlimited samples. It really is such a good deal!!

As for filling, options, they had SO MANY. You could do truffle fillings, soft centers, white chocolate, milk chocolate, pretzel rods, marshmallows, strawberries, etc.
My chocolates from left to right were: milk chocolate with coconut soft center and almond topping, milk chocolate with raspberry truffle, milk chocolate with orange bits, milk chocolate with raspberry soft center and coconut topping, milk chocolate covered marshmallow with sprinkles, milk chocolate with lemon soft center and white sprinkles, dark chocolate with caramel soft center and walnut topping, milk chocolate with pomegranate truffle and white chocolate with sprinkles topping, and white chocolate with orange soft center and orange bits.

As you can tell, there were lots and lots of options!

They also had chocolates you can just buy! I thought the names were sooo clever and cute haha.

Anyway! It was really so so so much fun and I'd highly recommend it! You can read more about them here.

Tsunami! Aka Where To Get The Best Vegetarian Non-Seaweed Sushi In Utah

Monday, May 20, 2019
Let's talk about sushi in Utah as a vegetarian! You are probably used to ordering sides because you don't like fish or seaweed. WELL. LET ME TELL YOU.

Go to Tsunami. Just... go to Tsunami once and you will SEE what I am talking about. This is a FREQUENT place we go for family get togethers! So, I am SERIOUSSSSS when I say it is 10/10 good.

Now, here's what's good if you're vegetarian!

- Edamame, duh.

- Tempura fried vegetables, (also duh).

- Honey Badger roll! (Pictured on the right.) This is honestly one of my favorite dishes of all. It has the best chewy tangy tofu, mango, and cilantro rolled in soy paper and topped with avocado, tempura crunchies (THE BEST) and teriyaki drizzle! Seriously so so so good!

- Ninja Garden roll! (Pictured on the left.) I tried this last time and loved it! It was light and fresh with a little kick! The inside was red bell pepper, house pickled radish, baby greens, scallions, asparagus, avocado, and yamagobo. The wrapping was a shichimi soy paper that was a little spicy and so delicious!

- Buddha roll! This one is a little different because it is deep fried! It is filled with asparagus, jicama, carrots, scallions, and avocado and drizzled with teriyaki sauce. It has a really good earthy flavor that I love.

- Sean Connery roll! Another really good roll! It has mango, cucumber, baby greens, cilantro, and grilled onion with honey teriyaki on top!

If I left anything out, let me know! You can check Tsunami's menu out here

Last Course's New Location!

Saturday, May 18, 2019
In honor of Last Course opening a new location in Lehi (hollaaaaaaa) I wanted to post about everything I have tried there and what I thought!

Let's start with this blueberry lavender ice cream: I LOVE anything lavender flavored and this ice cream was no excuse! It had nice frozen crunchy blueberry things which were sooo good. And the perfect lavender flavor too.

ALSO, something unexpected that I loved loved loved so much at the Lehi location was that they had REAL spoons for samples instead of plastic! I love to see companies making changes where they can to reduce waste. So, THANK YOU.

These are the foster's banana tacos! They were interesting! I didn't love the crunch of the taco shell (which is actually like a cinnamon sugar shell) but the flavors were good! I just checked their website and it looks like they are doing this dish as a "foster's banana churros" which I feel like would be INCREDIBLE since you're getting a chewy churro instead of a crunchy taco.

There were the strawberry nachos! They are chocolate chips with a strawberry jam and whipped cream. I actually loved this! It was a lighter dessert and so perfect.

I have also tried the rosemary and honey ice cream which was also really, really good!

I love all their stuff for it's novelty and uniqueness! Comment below what your favorite thing to get from there is and I'll give it a try!

Capriotti's Sandwich Shop!

Friday, May 17, 2019
We tried the new Capriotti's in Lehi this week! I saw "vegetarian chicken cheesesteak" and was SOLD. I got it with sweet peppers and it was so good! It can be hard to come by vegetarian "fake meats" in Utah County so I am very happy I found this place!

They also have a vegetarian turkey, vegetarian cole turkey, and vegetarian cheeseburger! They also had this cute little lollipop stand for kids!

You can view the Lehi menu here! They have locations in Lehi, Providence, Santa Clara, St. George, Murray, Riverton, and West Valley!

CHAPS: We go here every single time! All the food and pastries are so good. My favorite is the baked oatmeal I got this most recent trip. SO GOOD.
